Our graduate GROW programme is a structured 3-year programme, designed to help you evolve and develop skills to become an experienced professional in your chosen field. You'll benefit from training and development, mentoring, and assistance for accreditations relevant to your programme, as well as the support and guidance you need to develop and succeed. As a GROW graduate you will be empowered to drive your career and will be exposed to a variety of experiences to assist you in gaining the skills you require to succeed.
As a specialist and science graduate joining GROW you will specialise from day one in your chosen discipline. Working in teams of consultants you'll be responsible for your own deliverables, liaising with clients, and given every opportunity to build your skillsets and technical expertise. You'll work on a range of environmental and planning projects which may include major infrastructure, urban regeneration and community focussed projects that will expose you to a variety of challenges and technical specialists.
Soils and Land Use - Our award-winning team has more than 35 years of experience undertaking soil surveys and sampling, Agricultural Land Classification (ALC) surveys, land use change assessments, environmental impact assessments and habitat creation, restoration and translocation design, with a real focus on sustainable land management. You will assist in the delivery of a range of soil and agricultural surveys and data collation, develop baseline reports and assessment of impacts, support the development of mitigation strategies (such as Soil Management Plans and soil resources reports for Biodiversity Net Gain proposals) and work on site delivering and supervising mitigation. You will have the opportunity to undertake surveys across the UK, often in remote and beautiful places, requiring work away from home. Soils and Land Use is an exciting and dynamic profession which is gaining much more attention across clients and stakeholders, with both long-term and short-term project requirements over a diverse range of land use types and landscapes. While we prioritise the use of public transport, due to the remote nature of the sites we often must drive. An existing driving licence is essential for our site work, and we provide 4 by 4 training as required. We work with many clients from all industry and government sectors who share our ambitions - we facilitate their sustainable soil management and land use transformation journeys to deliver positive outcomes. We always strive to achieve the best outcome for soils, agriculture and all who work on or rely on the land.
