Join ABB as a Graduate Service Engineer in our Automation, Energy Industries division and kickstart your career in a hands‑on, technical role. You'll work with cutting‑edge operational technology to monitor and control industrial equipment, assets, and processes, helping deliver ABB's service portfolio to energy industry customers across the UK. Based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, the role offers practical experience developing and implementing process automation hardware and software solutions, with travel to ABB offices and customer sites - both onshore and offshore. Responsibilities
  • Develop knowledge of ABB's Industrial Automation systems, cybersecurity, and digital portfolio.
  • Collaborate with UK and European engineering teams, customers, and end users.
  • Support and deliver lifecycle services for ABB Control System products, including preventive and corrective maintenance visits to onshore/offshore sites.
  • Assist in studies and produce reports detailing requirements, recommendations, risks, and benefits.
  • Contribute to the design, engineering, integration, verification, and validation of hardware and software modules.
  • Participate fully in the ABB UK Graduate Development Programme.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Controls Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity and Networking, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks through to completion.
  • Willingness to learn and innovate.
  • Flexibility to travel to customer sites (onshore and offshore).
  • Full UK Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, industrial networks, and cybersecurity – desirable.
  • Basic programming experience – desirable.
