Graduate Engineer (Electrical/Electronic) Mid County Down

Mid County Down area

38 hours a week - Role is mainly based on site: 4 longer days a week (Mon-Fri) or you can opt for shorter days on a 5 day week with a half day Friday. There are flexi start and finish hours to accommodate lifestyle aspects like childcare pick up/drop off

Our client is a medium to large, established electrical / electronic's manufacturing engineering company. They are under new owner / management (within the last 2 years) and have a fast expanding order book. The role reports directly into the Engineering Manager and will work with various stakeholders right across the business from customer through production. This company is a particularly good, employee focused employer and a nice team environment to work within.

Role and responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring effective planning, execution, and delivery
  • Manufacturing Data Conversion: Translate customer drawings and specifications into manufacturing data
  • BOM Creation: Develop bills of materials and product structures for manufacturing
  • Process Documentation: Create operator build instructions and process documentation for production teams
  • Process Optimisation: Assign process times and select the most efficient manufacturing processes to maximise productivity
  • Customisation and Technical Support: Provide technical support for customisations of existing product designs and build-to-print products
  • Hands-on Support: Offer practical support in model and pre-production builds as required by the business
  • Record Maintenance: Ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping of project and production data
  • Contract Review: Participate in contract reviews, addressing all NPI engineering and commercial considerations
  • Engineering Change Management: Coordinate and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) on active production lines
  • ISO Compliance: Ensure all documentation aligns with the requirements of ISO 9001 standards

Essential for this Graduate Engineer Vacancy:

  • A relevant Electrical or Electronic 3rd level degree qualification
  • A minimum of 1 year's work experience in an electronic or electrical related engineering manufacturing environment
