Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant – Newcastle Primary School – £500–£550 per week – Full-Time

Are you a graduate of Early Childhood Studies (or similar) with a passion for Education and Child Development? Do you want hands‑on experience supporting children in their earliest years of education? Are you considering a future career in Primary Teaching, Early Years Education, or Child Psychology?

A welcoming and nurturing primary school in Newcastle is seeking a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team. This full‑time role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical classroom experience while supporting children during a vital stage of their development.

The Role – Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work within Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and early Key Stage 1 settings, supporting children’s learning through play‑based and structured activities. You will assist class teachers with daily routines, deliver targeted support to small groups and individual pupils, and help create a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will support children’s development across key areas including communication and language, early literacy and numeracy, social skills, and emotional wellbeing. This role places a strong emphasis on nurturing confidence, independence, and curiosity in young learners.

This role is particularly well suited to graduates with a background in Early Childhood Studies or Primary Education, though other relevant degrees will also be considered.
