Main duties of the job
  • Greeting patients at the desk
  • Answering the telephone in a professional tone and manner
  • Processing prescriptions and blood test forms
  • Dealing with patient enquiries
  • Scanning and processing documents

The practice is based in Knightsbridge and has 15,000 patients. We are a training practice and our team consists of:

  • 2 partners
  • 6 long‑term locums
  • 1 practice manager
  • 1 deputy manager
  • 4 administrators
  • 1 HCA

Job responsibilities
  • Provide an efficient reception service, greeting patients and assisting them with appointments.
  • Manage all general enquiries, call handling and message taking.
  • Enter patient information and home‑visit requests into the computer system.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, correspondence and documents.
  • Ensure consulting areas are ready for patient use and that waste is collected correctly.
  • Assist with opening and closing surgery, including computer and equipment checks.
  • Support visiting staff and attend practice meetings and away days.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Partners or Practice Manager.
Qualifications

  • Confidence with IT systems.
  • Residence within 6 miles of the practice.
  • Ability to work mornings 8 am – 2 pm and occasional closing at 18.30.
  • Experience of working in the NHS.
