Job description

Responsibilities

• Timely inspection of raw materials, mechanical components, and sub-assemblies upon arrival.
• Verify conformity to purchase orders, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using appropriate inspection equipment (e.g., vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, Faro arm, NDT equipment).
• Ensure material compliance with material standards, internal quality standards, and external regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, customer‑specific requirements).
• Identify and report non‑conforming goods through formal PLM NCR processes.
• Review, upload, and approve EN10204 material certificates into PLM. Maintain accurate inspection records.
• Ensure traceability of inspected items through batch numbers, certificates of conformity, and delivery documentation.
• Support internal and external audits with relevant inspection data.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding quality issues and corrective actions.
• Provide feedback to improve supplier performance and incoming quality.
• Timely approval of goods for storage and/or production use in support of customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing/engineering environment in a quality inspection or closely related role.
• Experience within a recognised quality system and working in accordance with procedures.
• Knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge of metrology equipment.
• Understanding of essential requirements of materials and material certification.
• Attention to detail to maintain high levels of quality.
• Proactive and flexible approach.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently as required.
