A leading engineering firm in Charnwood is looking for a Goods in and Stores Operative to manage the safe offloading and loading of vehicles as well as maintain the warehouse's cleanliness and organization. The ideal candidate will have an FLT counterbalance license, experience with WMS, and a strong attention to detail. Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a production/manufacturing warehouse.
  • Previous experience with WMS (Warehouse Management System).

What's the role?

As part of our Goods in and Stores Operative teams , your main duties will include the safe offloading loading of vehicles and reporting/recording any damages while ensuring our warehouse is in a safe and tidy state.

You will be using forklift trucks and overhead cranes, compiling contractual fabrication parts for shop floor and reporting of any damage. You will be responsible for distributing parts around the site as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offloading / loading of vehicles as required using forklift trucks and overhead cranes.
  • Opening fabrication cases / pallets and unwrapping parts and assembling on plastic pallets.
  • Taking parts as requested into production‑related areas.
  • Booking in parts and scanning delivery notes after booking.
  • Supporting & delivering parts to the shop & service department.
  • Raising Near misses and Safety Improvement opportunities and ensuring health and safety remains a focus for all activities.
  • Always Maintaining good standards of hygiene and housekeeping around all store’s areas.
  • Working as part of the Stores team and carrying out other general stores’ duties as and when required, including stock take activities.

What we're looking for:
  • FLT counterbalance license.
  • Previous experience with WMS (Warehouse management system)
  • Great attention to detail
  • IT skills with awareness of warehouse processes.
  • Relevant experience of working in a production / manufacturing warehouse / stores environment
