GIS Land Analyst / Geospatial Specialist / GIS Analyst who is highly motivated and experienced with proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, database management, and spatial analysis techniques is required for a successful development management company based in Bedfordshire.

SALARY: £30,000 - £33,500 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid (working from home and the office in Bedford, Bedfordshire)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week. Flexible Working Hours, with core hours being 10am-3pm

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a GIS Land Analyst / Geospatial Specialist / GIS Analyst who is highly motivated and experienced with proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, database management, and spatial analysis techniques. Working as a GIS Land Analyst / Geospatial Specialist / GIS Analyst, you will be integral to the company's operations and services, with the opportunity to lead complex development projects with project values ranging from £250k to £25m, through the planning process.

You will play a key role in identifying suitable land for development using GIS tools, delivering high-quality feasibility studies, producing well-structured reports, and presenting findings to clients. Additionally, you will provide GIS support to the team, maintain accurate datasets, and ensure best practices are followed across all GIS-related work.

DUTIES
  • Maintain and develop the company's GIS database, ensuring data accuracy and relevance
  • Lead GIS-based feasibility studies at RIBA Stage 0, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction
  • Produce clear, professional feasibility reports tailored to client needs
  • Present findings confidently to clients with well-prepared presentations
  • Collaborate with clients to understand objectives and provide GIS insights
  • Identify market gaps to support clients
  • Provide GIS support to the planning team and manage requests efficiently
  • Organise and deliver GIS training sessions for the team
  • Manage relationships with GIS software and data providers
  • Stay updated with GIS technologies and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with environmental teams to assess land for development
  • Ensure all GIS tasks meet high standards and deadlines
  • Serve as the point of contact for land agents, assisting in land acquisition and site preparation
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or related field, with 2:1 or above
  • Previous commercial experience, preferably in a GIS consultancy or planning environment
  • Membership of The Association for Geographic Information (AGI) is preferable but not essential
  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, database management, and spatial analysis
  • Strong spatial data analysis and reporting skills
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across the UK
