Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy based in the United Kingdom is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join their team. The role is hybrid, allowing work from either Bristol or Exeter. The ideal candidate should hold a degree or HND in a relevant discipline and have experience in design or renewal schemes. Responsibilities include leading feasibility studies and preparing geotechnical reports.

• Understanding of the Value Management process and/or cost benefit analysis of schemes.

Job description

Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in the South West. You can be based from their office in either Bristol or Exeter (2 days / week) and work on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead developing feasibility studies for renewals and/or improvements, including compiling and checking of relevant documents, evidence and options for value management, taking into account new techniques, materials, buildability and costs.
• Drive as part of the role, requiring no more than 3 points to be considered for this position and during employment.
• Activities and resources involved in the identification and evaluation of asset data and needs to develop early solutions, in line with agreed methodologies and prioritisation criteria.
• Develop CD622 geotechnical reports.
• Prepare briefs and support delivery of survey works, including ground investigation specifications, that support the renewal and/or improvement of assets.
• Preliminary design of Geotech renewals and maintenance schemes.

About you

• Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent.
• Experience in design or renewal schemes.
• Understanding of the Value Management process and/or cost benefit analysis of schemes.
• Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards, methods of working & Specification for Highway Works.
