With our client's ongoing commitment to operational success and brilliance, they are on the hunt for a seasoned Geotechnical Engineer to join their consultancy in a permanent position. To continue their ongoing legacy of excellent project delivery, the successful candidate will be working on a hybrid basis from their main London office. Demonstrate your impressive skills and abilities across a variety of Maritime projects, gaining invaluable experience along the way.

Competitive salary ranging from £35,000-£70,000 (subject to experience).

Responsibilities
  • Establish and develop geotechnical designs for a range of systems, focusing on structural retention, foundations, tunnels, and other related subterranean elements.
  • Assemble accurate documentation, reports, risk assessments, and specifications, whilst supporting with bid or tender submissions, regarding geotechnical scope.
  • Conduct site investigations to gather information, such as rock and soil data, allowing for precise parameters for underground structures to be established.
  • Work alongside project professionals to ensure accurate geotechnical solution implementation across all project plans and proposals.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting ongoing professional development, and ensuring efficient team performance across all works.
  • Attend site visits, monitor geotechnical performance, and oversee construction processes, ensuring alignment with design intent.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, or above, in Geotechnical Engineering and/or Civil Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • 2+ years of demonstratable experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, or a related role, ideally with previous works experience on Maritime projects.
  • Proficient understanding of rock and soil mechanics, groundwater issues, ground modelling, and geotechnical design strategies.
  • Strong communication presentation skills, with an ability to work effectively with other project professionals, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong proactive and problem-solving mindset.
