We’re working with a well-established, friendly secondary school near Bristol that is seeking a full-time Geography Teacher to cover a colleague’s maternity leave starting in January. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys teaching Geography across Key Stage 3 & 4, with full planning, delivery and marking responsibilities.

About the role
  • Learn Geography lessons to mixed-ability groups in Years 7–11. At KS3, students receive two lessons per week; at KS4, the curriculum increases to three lessons per week.
  • You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, marking work and assessments, and helping students build understanding of physical, human and environmental geography.
  • You will join a committed Humanities/Geography team where collaboration, consistent expectations and support for students are valued.
About the school setting
  • The school is part of a well-regarded local academy trust, with a clear commitment to high standards, inclusion and giving students “the best chance of success.”
  • Students are encouraged to be curious, tolerant and outward-thinking: Geography at this school aims to help them understand their place in the world, global interconnections, environmental issues and social responsibility.
  • The school prides itself on a calm, respectful environment where good behaviour is expected and sustained, helping create a productive learning atmosphere.
What they’re looking for
  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4.
  • Someone who can plan, deliver and assess Geography lessons confidently — comfortable with theory, critical thinking and helping students explore global issues.
  • A teacher who values clarity, consistency and positive relationships, and who works well in a team.
  • A flexible, reliable individual ready to step in and deliver high-quality cover teaching from January.
