General Practitioners - Adhoc Shifts | Prisons Across the West Midlands

Location: Various prison sites across the West Midlands

Type: Adhoc / Locum Shifts

Belmont Recruitment is currently looking to speak with experienced General Practitioners who are interested in Adhoc opportunities within prison settings across the West Midlands.

Overview

As a General Practitioner working within the prison healthcare system, you'll play a vital and highly respected role. You'll provide high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse and often complex patient population, while developing your clinical skills in a unique and challenging environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Delivering comprehensive primary care services to a varied patient population
  • Providing clinical assessment, diagnosis, and effective treatment planning
  • Managing both acute presentations and long-term conditions
  • Running clinics covering chronic disease management, acute care, and health screenings
  • Working collaboratively with mental health, substance misuse, and nursing teams
  • Supporting multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings to enhance continuity of care and risk management
  • Contributing to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Promoting health education, safeguarding, and preventative care within the prison setting
What We're Looking For
  • Fully qualified General Practitioner (MBChB or MBBS)
  • Current registration with the GMC
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different prison sites
  • Strong communication, clinical, and decision-making skills
  • Previous experience in secure environments (desirable but not essential)
  • Prison vetting clearance is required
