We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Healthcare team at HMP Drake Hall, a women's closed prison located in Eccleshall, Stafford. Within this role you will be working closely with a full multidisciplinary team including an ACP and NMP to deliver high quality healthcare services.

Ideal applicants for this role will have a special interest in female health, and have experience with LARC insertion and removal. This year the site hopes to open a healthcare hub focusing on female specific health needs such as pregnancy, menopause and sexual health; the GP within this role will be actively involved within healthcare services in the hub.

Hours

Monday 8am-4.30pm

Wednesday 8am-4.30pm

Friday 8am-4.30pm

Salary

This position is a part-time role working 24 hours per week. You’ll receive an annual salary from £119,140 up to £122,886 per annum FTE — depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community. As a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Deliver first-class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn't usually experience within a practice, or even an A&E environment.
  • Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
  • Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications
