Job summary

A progressive health organization in Chesterfield is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join their dynamic nursing team. The role requires a diverse skill set, including chronic disease management and children's immunizations. Inspire Health is looking to appoint a practice nurse tojoin our very friendly and progressive nursing team. This post has only becomeavailable due to retirement.

Our team is rare as it is filled withenthusiastic, caring and highly skilled professionals who work incredibly as ateam and offer great support to one another. We put a real focus into education and training to give our team the confidence to manage complex diseases and have the advantage of having a Clinical Lead for Long Term Conditions working alongside the nurses to support with this on a daily basis. Main duties of the job

Your role would be toprovide a wide range of nursing care to a mixed age and diverse population.This will require a specialist set of skills and knowledge which the successful candidate will be required to maintain and update to practice safely.

Salary package is competitive and includes:

6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata if lessthan full time / under one year contract) and in addition your birthday off (or closest working day), after the probationary period has been completed.

We currently have one position available. This would be part time hours working a minimum of 2 -3 set days. How many hours are negotiable but no less than 17hrs, more are desirable.

We would ideally like to recruit a team member with experience of long term condition management in primary care, in particular knowledge in the management of asthma and COPD although this is not essential. The Practice Nurse would also have some or all of the specialist clinical skills required to work within primary care such as childhood immunisations, cervical screening, INR's, wound care knowledge etc...

For this positionwe would not consider newly qualified nurses or registered nursing associates as we already have a newly qualified nurse and a nurse associate within our team. This is because we have to consider the skill mix and the level of support and supervision required which impacts the existing teams workload.

Qualifications
  • NMC Registered Nurse must be an Adult RN / RGN - not Nursing Associate
  • Not newly qualified RN or qualifying
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Willingness to gain qualifications and skills where the applicant does not yet hold these skills if there is a practice need.
  • General Practice Nurse Qualification
  • Spirometry qualified - ideally ARTP registered but not essential. Understanding of spirometry assessment, procedure and interpretation.
  • Diplomas or evidence of suitable training in long term conditions such as diabetes, asthma and COPD.
  • Mentoring / teaching qualification
  • Clinical supervision experience
  • Child and adult immunisation training and experience
  • Cervical Screening training and experience
  • Wound care knowledge and training
  • Travel Health training and experience
  • Mentoring / teaching experience
  • Spirometry assessment, procedure and interpretation
  • Contraception and HRT reviews and initiation of medicines
  • INR / anticoagulation training and experience
  • Venepuncture.
  • LARC qualification and experience
  • Ear care training and experience (ear irrigation or micro-suction)
  • Knowledge and understanding of accountability of own role and within the context of the wider team
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal issues e.g GDPR, confidentiality, health and safety, safeguarding, domestic violence/vulnerable adults
  • Knowledge of local and national health policy.
