The East Kootenay Regional Hospital, located at the foot of the Rockies in Cranbrook, BC, is seeking an anatomical or general pathologist to complete our pathology team. Our hospital serves a catchment of approximately 85,000 people and supports a Level 4 BCCA oncology clinic, on-site MRI, and specialist services in internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, urology, ENT, orthopedics, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and radiology.
Our group performs approximately 10,000 inpatient and outpatient surgical cases and ten to fifteen hospital autopsies per year, as well as non‑gynecological cytopathology and frozen sections. There is also an opportunity to perform coroner’s autopsies if interested. We provide medical leadership for all of the Interior Health laboratories in the East Kootenay region. Our technical and support staff are dedicated and highly skilled, and the collaborative relationships with our clinical colleagues create an exceptional work environment.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in surgical pathology and be able to work effectively within an independent practice in a small group environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with hospital and laboratory staff are also important.
Join us at East Kootenay Regional Hospital (EKRH), an 80‑bed regional referral centre serving approximately 85,000 individuals in the beautiful East Kootenay region of BC. Our 24/7 emergency and trauma services feature a 16‑bed unit and a 6‑bed ICU. Our high‑acuity response team provides mobile critical care to stabilize and transfer rural patients.
The hospital includes a level 3 lab with new PCR and MALDI/TOF machines, plus new MRI, SPECT CT, and upcoming CT scanners in the radiology department. Construction is also underway for a new NICU, renovated ER triage, and oncology and renal departments.

Compensation Type: Clinical Service Contract. Estimated Remuneration: $423,125 plus MOCAP level 3, and applicable overages.
May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA).
