Qualifications

  • Level 4 qualification in the relevant area of expertise or commitment to achieve this.

Responsibilities

  • Classroom teaching and tutorial work.
  • Organisational and administrative work, preparation and marking.
  • Acting as a Personal Tutor with pastoral care support.
  • Contributing to the team approach to learning and teaching.
  • Implementing a student‑centred negotiated learning programme.
  • Setting and assessing assignments with appropriate feedback.
  • Organising appropriate work placements.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and skilled General Engineer Lecturer. The information below provides more detail about the role.

Duties:
  • Classroom teaching, tutorial work and associated outreach duties, residential, open and distance learning courses and student placements
  • All associated organisational and administrative work, preparation and marking and appropriate student welfare and academic counselling responsibilities;
  • Acting as a Personal Tutor to students as required and undertaking all of the associated duties including pastoral care support.
  • Making a full contribution to the team approach to learning and teaching.
  • Implementing a student‑centred negotiated learning programme in accordance with the College's curriculum framework.
  • Implementing agreed induction procedures and processes for students.
  • Ensuring that students are informed of what is expected of them at every stage of their programme and that an awareness of what the programme involves is a feature of all reviews undertaken with students.
  • Ensuring that appropriate assignments, tasks and activities are regularly set and assessed and that feedback is given to students in ways that will allow them to develop and achieve progression.
  • Contributing to the organisation of and ensure that there are appropriate work placements.
