Job description

GCIL.DK/EM/1.25 Personal Assistant Required Part Time 2-3hrs

Tim is a young adult who enjoys an active lifestyle. He’s friendly and enjoys meeting people and being out and about. He also has a mischievous nature and enjoys practical jokes. Tim’s hobbies include the gym, swimming, bowling, computer games and music. Sometimes these activities are planned and other times he likes to pick on the day. At night he is supported to attend to personal hygiene and likes to chill. Tim likes structure to his day and consistent people supporting him. Tim live in a large busy family with other siblings with disabilities, any new carer would need to be understanding of this.

As Tim’s personal assistant, you’ll provide support assisting him to travel/participate in activities independently and support him keeping safe. He may require support with toileting and other personal hygiene. It would be your role to assist Tim talking to unfamiliar people due to his communication need. There are times when Tim will require you to support him manage his emotions when he’s feeling overwhelmed.

Experience is a bonus, but not essential. Tim is looking for is someone who is ideally interested in the same hobbies, is active, flexible, has a good sense of humour and is calm and compassionate.

This role is based in East Dunbartonshire G66 so it’s important you can travel to and from the area reliably. The hours are 2-3 hours per week, with potential overtime when required at £14.50 per hour.
