Job description

Due to internal progression, we are looking to recruit an experienced individual to join our established team. Reporting to our Gas Qualifying Supervisor, our Gas Engineers provide assistance with the maintenance service and upkeep of the Group's properties specifically in relation to the annual gas servicing, breakdown, and installation of heating systems.

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about advocating on behalf of people and communities.

Responsibilities
  • Install and upgrade domestic heating systems in accordance with business schedules and budgets.
  • Carry out the servicing of domestic heating systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in domestic heating and plumbing systems and renew heating and plumbing fittings.
  • Issue certificates for gas works in line with legislation and the Group's policy and procedures, advising the manager of any problems or issues.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with relevant legislation affecting the sector in accordance with Gas Safe and HSE.
  • Hold up-to-date A.C.O.P.S. certificates and Gas Safe registration for domestic and/or commercial gas.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience of working as a heating engineer.
  • Experience of establishing and developing professional working relationships with internal and external customers, contractors, external partners, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of working with domestic and commercial heating systems, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and servicing.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Hands‑on role at the heart of the service that MSV delivers to our customers, with effective communication skills and ability to understand with empathy the diverse needs of our customers.

This role is based in the communities we serve and works under minimum supervision as part of a team using a flexible approach.
