Overview

Gas Engineer - Full Time

Mobile (Ideally located in either Chelmsford, Harlow or Stansted)

£42,000+ Van, Tools and Door to door

08:00 - 17:30, Monday-Friday (with flexibility for callouts, overtime & occasional weekends)

I am looking for a skilled and proactive Gas Engineer to join My clients team. This role is varied, hands-on, and requires someone with strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a professional approach to client service.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance on gas equipment across client sites
• Supporting with mechanical installations as directed
• Handling deliveries, checking notes, and ensuring accurate records
• Completing worksheets & submitting reports weekly to head office
• Assessing plant condition, flagging issues, and producing Life Expired reports
• Completing PPMs in line with client specifications and compiling remedial work lists
• Assisting the Contracts Manager with costings for remedial work
• Ordering job materials and keeping paperwork up to date
• Attending training and mandatory Health & Safety courses
• Following site procedures in the event of accidents, including reporting and documentation

What we're looking for

• Experience in gas maintenance and installations
• Strong understanding of PPMs, remedial works, and plant condition reporting
• Good organisational skills with the ability to complete and submit paperwork accurately
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage workload effectively
• Must hold COCN1 - Core Commercial Gas Safety Course as an absolute minimum and then appliance qualifications depending on what they will be doing e.g.
• ICPN1 - Installation First Fix on Commercial Pipework
• CIGA1 - Indirect Fired Commercial Appliances
• CDGA1 - Direct Fired Commercial Appliances
• CORT1 - Overhead Radiant Tube & Radiant Plaque Heaters
• TPCP1a - Tightness Testing & Direct Purging of Pipework not exceeding 1m³ in volume or 6″ in diameter
• CGFE1 - Gas Fuelled Engines Course
• BMP1 - Gas Boosters (Formerly CBHP1)
• MET4 - Diaphragm Gas Meter Course
