Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Front Office department including guest registration.
  • Ensure unique guest experiences aligned with The Bedford Hotel brand.
  • Provide a warm welcome to all guests, both new and returning.
  • Ensure punctuality and courtesy of the team to guests and colleagues.
  • Oversee security responsibilities for guest and hotel property.
  • Perform guest accounting functions and cash handling accurately.
  • Train team members on Front Office systems and procedures.
  • Ensure smooth check-in and check-out procedures are consistently implemented.
  • Monitor success through guest feedback and company targets.
  • Communicate effectively day to day to uphold service standards.
  • Work closely with Reservations team to maximize occupancy.
  • Train team on emergency situations and maintain local emergency relationships.
  • Draft rosters according to business needs.

Who are we

Opening early 2026, The Bedford Hotel Belfast will be a prestigious boutique hotel set within the iconic Scottish Mutual Building in the heart of the city. With 82 beautifully appointed bedrooms, a destination restaurant, café/bar, and exclusive private dining rooms, The Bedford Hotel Belfast will set new standards for hospitality in Northern Ireland.

Role Responsibilities

You will manage all aspects of the Front Office department, including guest registration, porter services, business centre, telephone services, concierge services, and guest reservations. You will ensure the guest experience is unique and brings The Bedford Hotel brand to life. At Focus Hotels Management we look for people who are energetic and approachable with a sense of fun, always curious to discover more and share thoughtful suggestions with our guests.

  • To provide a warm welcome to all guests, welcoming new and returning guests appropriately.
  • To ensure that your team are fully conversant with the facilities, services and special promotions offered by the hotel and to pass this information onto the guest whenever the possibility arises in order to maximise hotel sales.
  • Ensure you have a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest and special events and where further information can be obtained.
  • Ensure that the team are punctual, polite, courteous and helpful to guests and colleagues at all time, resulting in positive PR both internally and externally.
  • Be aware of your responsibility for the security of guest and hotel property.
  • Ensure that the team performs all guest accounting functions and cash handling according to The Bedford Hotel policies and procedures, ensuring all guest accounts are complete and accurate.
  • To have a full understanding, and able to operate and train all Front Office systems.
  • Ensure smooth and helpful check in and check out procedures are implemented and trained consistently to all team members.
  • Monitor success from guest feedback and company targets.
  • Ensure communication procedures are effective and efficient on a day to day basis, so that service standards are not compromised.
  • Work closely with the Reservation team to ensure maximum occupancy, rate and upsells, participating in Revenue and Sales meetings.
  • Train team members on emergency/crisis situations, develop and maintain relationships with local fire, police, and emergency personnel.
  • Co-ordinate constructively with finance, sales, reservations and night teams so that policy, procedure and requirements are all adhered to.
  • Drafting of rosters using our online portal so that staffing levels are in line with business needs and budget, adjusting accordingly in line with business levels.
