Role Overview

Export Gateway Operator – Feltham, UK – Full Time. A fast‑paced gateway team role handling export airfreight operations.

Responsibilities
  • Process and consolidate export airfreight shipments accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare, check, and complete export documentation (AWBs, manifests, customs entries) ensuring compliance.
  • Liaise with airlines, handling agents, and internal teams to secure flight bookings and confirm space.
  • Monitor shipment progress and update freight management systems.
  • Handle security screening and ensure cargo complies with airline and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and break down ULDs according to airline specifications and coordinate with warehouse teams for cargo loading.
  • Verify and apply correct rates and charges to shipments.
  • Ensure adherence to company SOPs, IATA, CAA, and HMRC regulations.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve operational issues to prevent shipment delays.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Export Airfreight operations.
  • Strong understanding of export documentation, customs, and airline procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Confident using freight management systems (knowledge of CW1 preferred).
  • Customer‑focused with a strong commitment to delivering high‑quality service.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and able to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Excellent IT literacy and ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining excellent service standards.
