Overview

Welsh Freelance Remote Translator — applications from candidates living in the EU or UK will be considered.

We help non-English speakers access essential services, such as medical care, by providing interpreters of over 512 languages and dialects. Dals is seeking Welsh speakers to join our team of freelance translators working remotely. If you're proficient in both English and Welsh and have translation experience, we’d like to hear from you.

This position offers a flexible remote arrangement where you log in to our platform to work when you choose, and you are paid for the time you work. As a freelance role, you are responsible for your own tax payments.

Responsibilities

• Translate digital documents for clients, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Perform proofreading as needed before submission to clients.
• Coordinate with the booking team for support or to report issues and ensure documents are ready for client submission.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Right to work in the country of residence.
• Fluent in English and Welsh at C1 level or higher.
• Willingness to undergo a trial assessment.
• Have a Basic DBS check or equivalent security clearance for EU residents.
• At least 1 year of translation experience, translating a minimum of 100,000 words or completing 100 assignments.
• Hold relevant qualifications in Translation, Languages, Linguistics, or a related field (e.g., BA/MA in Translation, CIOL Level 7 Diploma in Translation, DPI Level 4 & 5 in Translation, BA/MA in Languages or Linguistics).
• A valid security clearance/criminal background check.
• Excellent command of English and Welsh; a telephone language assessment will be conducted.

Additional Details

• Role is completely flexible in terms of when and how long you work.
• As a freelance position, you will be responsible for your own tax payments.
• EU residency is required for eligibility in this role.
