Location: Warrington / North West - Rate: £350 per day

Your new role

Our client is seeking a Freelance Technical Manager to provide technical oversight and support across a portfolio of civils and infrastructure projects. You will ensure designs meet required standards, resolve technical challenges, and support project teams in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across multiple projects.
  • Review and approve designs, drawings, method statements, and technical submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company quality requirements.
  • Support project teams in resolving technical issues on-site and in design coordination.
  • Collaborate with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and support junior technical staff where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical innovation.
  • Produce accurate technical reports and maintain clear project documentation.
What you will need to succeed
  • Proven experience as a Technical Manager, Senior Engineer, or similar in civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civils, groundworks, or utilities construction.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and challenge designs and drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading or supporting project teams and mentoring technical staff.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and health & safety practices.
