Job Description

GiveSimply is looking for a Part‑Time/Fractional CTO to help steward our mobile app as we move out of beta.

The app is already built – this role is about care, continuity, and thoughtful growth, not starting from scratch. You’ll help keep the platform stable, secure, and running smoothly while advising on technical decisions as we grow a product designed to make everyday giving easy and accessible.

Time commitment: ~5–10 hours per week, remote and flexible.

Structured as a contract/fractional role, with potential for longer‑term involvement.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the health, performance, and security of the mobile app
  • Manage bug fixes, updates, and releases
  • Help prioritise improvements based on user feedback
  • Advise the founder on technical decisions and future features
  • Ensure best practices around payments, data privacy, and reliability
  • Coordinate with external developers if needed

What success looks like:

  • The app runs smoothly and reliably
  • Issues are addressed quickly and thoughtfully
  • Technology supports trust, transparency, and scale
  • The platform grows without losing its mission‑first values
Role Requirements

Qualifications, skills & mindset:

  • Experience maintaining a live mobile app post‑launch
  • Strong grasp of mobile architecture, updates, and releases
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, security, and data privacy
  • Comfortable reviewing code and coordinating with external developers
  • Able to work independently and make thoughtful technical decisions
  • Mission‑driven, clear communicator, and aligned with ethical, social‑impact tech
How to apply?

To apply, please share via email:

  • A brief introduction about yourself
  • A link to your LinkedIn profile or resume
  • Examples of mobile apps or systems you’ve helped maintain or scale (if available)

Selected candidates will be invited to a short, informal conversation with the founder to discuss fit, availability, and how you’d approach stewarding the platform.

Final candidates may be asked to review the existing setup at a high level and share initial thoughts, there will be no technical tests or unpaid work.
