Job description
FP&A Analyst

Location: Abingdon (Hybrid) – minimum 2 days per week in office

Reporting to: Head of FP&A

Are you a part or newly qualified CIMA or ACCA (or have equivalent experience) with at least two years’ experience in a finance team, ideally in FP&A, commercial finance or management accounting? Join us to support forecasting and management reporting for senior management, board and lenders in this hands‑on role in a lean, high‑impact FP&A team.

What Success Looks Like

In year one, you'll have mastered the reporting cycle, be confident owning the forecast and budget processes, and be a trusted partner to budget holders. You'll have identified ways to automate and improve how we work. Beyond that, the trajectory is yours to shape. We want someone who'll progressively own more of the function, not wait to be told what's next. For the right candidate, this role is a genuine pathway to Head of FP&A.

What You’ll Do
  • Support the Head of FP&A on key deliverables, including:
  • Monthly board and lender reporting
  • Rolling re‑forecasts
  • Annual budgeting cycle
  • Lead the preparation of monthly reporting packs including analysis of variances and re‑forecasting future periods
  • Gather data from multiple sources to identify trends for KPIs, sales and costs
  • Support Head of FP&A with balance sheet and cashflow reporting and forecasting, analysing variances vs. budget and prior month/year and considering impact on future periods
  • Act as a business partner to senior leaders in the business to support them in managing their budgets
  • Identify opportunities to expand the depth and breadth of our reporting, bringing new insights to the business
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong numerical ability, high attention to detail and commitment to accurate, timely delivery.
  • Comfortable analysing data and communicating findings to stakeholders within and outside of Finance.
  • An understanding of management reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes, with exposure to month‑end reporting cycles and variance analysis.
  • A commitment to continuously improving processes through automation and AI.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across finance and the wider business.
  • Experience in working with non‑finance stakeholders to gather information and explain financial performance.
  • Discretion and sound judgement when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Self‑starter who can manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivots, Advanced formulas) is essential, and a familiarity with Power BI or financial planning software is helpful.
Why Join Us?

We’re committed to developing our people. We’ll sponsor your professional accountancy qualification (CIMA or ACCA) and provide training in the analytical tools we use (PowerBI, Workday Adaptive, Power Query). You’ll be joining a team that values clarity over complexity, cares about getting the detail right, and isn’t afraid to challenge each other constructively.

Please apply if you’d like to work for a global company that is helping make the working world more sustainable, safer, cleaner and fairer, with great colleagues and a good pay and benefits package. We welcome applications from armed forces veterans, reservists and their families. We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion in our practices and workforce.
