A national health service organization seeks a Deputy Foundation School Director to oversee operational functions within the London Foundation School. The role involves curriculum implementation, quality assurance, and educational assessments, contributing to the management of around 2,200 Foundation trainees across London. An ideal candidate will possess educational leadership experience and excellent relationship management skills. This position includes significant in-person engagement with Trusts and other educational bodies, enhancing the quality of training and operational efficiency.
An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Deputy Foundation School Director (London Foundation School).
This educational leadership role will involve a wide range of operational functions for the London Foundation School, working in collaboration with the Associate Postgraduate Dean (London Foundation School). The school oversees the planning, recruitment, education, and assessment of all foundation trainees in London. There are currently around 2,200 Foundation trainees in London across 5 Integrated Care Systems (ICS).
The role may include curriculum implementation, educational assessments, supporting doctors in training, quality assurance, and promoting educational excellence.
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
The Deputy Foundation School Director (FSD) will be responsible for the management of one of five regions in London (NWL, NCL, NEL, SWL, SEL), aligned with an Integrated Care System. Responsibilities include:
