Job description

Following the impending retirement of the exiting post holder we have an opportunity for you to make a defining mark in your career and lead the council through a new local plan during 2026 and beyond. We are currently out to consultation on Regulation 18 and aim to have a local plan submitted mid-2026.

The role seeks a qualified planner although the scope of the role is wider. A new local plan is one of the top priorities for the council, so this role is critical to delivering this priority.

You will lead a small, dedicated team supported by additional resource.
