We are seeking a Thorough Examination Engineer for one of our specialist companies, Statutory Inspections Ltd, covering the clients based in the Southern England Corridor.

Operating Region

Southern England corridor – Stevenage, London, Luton / Watford, Slough / Maidenhead, Oxford, Swindon, and Bath (home location flexible within this area).

Salary

Up to £38K (DOE) + Overtime + Company Van + Benefits

Join our growing team of expert inspection engineers carrying out Thorough Examinations on lifting equipment across the UK. You’ll play a key role in keeping businesses compliant under LOLER and PUWER regulations —working independently, supported by an in-house booking team and backed by a great benefits package.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct Thorough Examinations at client sites, on a variety of lifting equipment—primarily, but not limited to, forklifts—in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Operate machinery as part of testing and inspection
  • Complete legal documentation accurately and on time
  • Liaise with customers when urgent equipment repairs are needed
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and site-specific protocols
  • Work field-based, covering one of the above regions
What We’re Looking For
Essential
  • Minimum 5 years' engineering experience with forklifts and / or other material handling equipment.
  • Experience with a range of forklift types is highly desirable; training will be provided to cover additional equipment.
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness
  • Excellent customer communication skills
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, basic tablet use)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Able to travel within your assigned region

  • Forklifts are our primary source of inspections. However, we cover a much wider range of equipment.
  • Full internal and external training is provided for the full range of equipment we inspect.
  • If you have solid knowledge and skills with different types of forklifts, we can help you build on this experience and upskill in other equipment types.
