Qualifications

  • Previous experience driving a forklift is required.
  • Experience with tractor driving and garden machinery is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and on initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and dispose of waste packaging.
  • Remove dirty trays onto internal vehicle trailer.
  • Dispose of drain filter waste.

Job requirements of Yard Operative

This role is primarily responsible for the regular maintenance of the yard, keeping the livestock wash area tidy, ensuring the segregation of waste materials and correct storage and making sure all animal by-products are labelled, covered and disposed of.

Shift pattern: 4on4off, 6am-4:45pm

Main responsibilities
  • The collection and disposal of waste packaging
  • The removal of dirty trays and dolavs onto the internal vehicle trailer
  • The disposal of the drain filter (straw and muck waste)
  • Maintaining the flow of waste from the factory exit
  • Carrying out the collection, storage and dispatch of customer bulk orders
  • Monitoring of vehicle cleaning and disinfection
  • Providing assistance as required with the maintenance of foliage, grass etc
  • Carrying out environmental daily environmental checks

You must be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions, be flexible with daily working hours, with the occasional overtime during the week/weekends.

You must have the ability to work on your own initiative.

Previous experience of tractor driving, garden machinery is preferred. Experience driving a forklift is required.

Pay and benefits
  • Salary – £14.11 per hour (inclusive of attendance bonus)
  • Weekly attendance bonus of £1 per hour
  • Overtime – time and a third after basic hours
