Overview

Food & Textiles Technician Scale 3 Points 5-6 £25,583-£25,989 (pro rata) Actual (£16,182-£16,439) 27 hours a week, 8.00-2.00pm Mon-Thurs, 8.00-1.30pm Friday which includes a 30min lunch break. (Hours could be negotiated for the right candidate) Term Time only plus 3 Inset Days. Start date: ASAP. We are looking to appoint an experienced Food & Textiles Technician to provide efficient and effective technical support within the department. The post holder will be required to support the delivery of both food and textiles courses.

Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient and effective technical support within the department for food and textiles courses.
  • Support the delivery of food and textiles courses by applying relevant techniques and demonstrable knowledge.
  • Assist in preparing, handling and maintaining safe working environments in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Communicate and demonstrate knowledge effectively to staff and students.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience and knowledge of techniques used in food preparation and safe handling of food.
  • Knowledge of textiles equipment and techniques.
  • Strong communication skills to demonstrate knowledge to staff and students.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures, with a good level of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
