Food Service Assistant (Ref: WCS0001252)

Estates Department: Refectory

Grade 2: Salary £25,967 to £29,087.84 pro rata, per annum,

(plus generous staff benefits package)

Hours: 30 hours x 40 weeks Term Time

Monday to Friday: Hours working on a rota basis between 7.30am and 3.15pm

Location: Clydebank (you may be asked to work across all Campuses)

The Food Service Assistant will undertake a range of catering tasks with limited supervision by the Catering Manager and Catering Supervisor’s, to ensure the Health and Safety at Work Act and Food Safety Legislation are adhered to; to assist in food preparation, finishing of food, transporting of food and service of food whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness; operating a point of sale and stock management system; to serve customers and to hold responsibility for cash handling.

You will have a good understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act and Food Safety Legislation, have experience of working in a catering service, and have effective customer service skills along with good preparation and presentation skills. The successful candidate will ensure working practices comply with current legislation and protect the organisation from a legal perspective. e.g. ability to deal appropriately with visits from external organisations such as Environmental Health.
