Job description

Overview

A fully qualified Food competent Environmental Health Officer able to undertake food hygiene and food standards inspections in low to high risked premises, covering the work of a team colleague whilst on long term sick leave.

Responsibilities

• Undertake food hygiene and food standards inspections in low to high risk premises.
• Cover the work of a team colleague whilst on long term sick leave.
• Work independently to undertake 120 - 150 inspections of premises over a period of 3 months.
• Provide food business operators with inspection reports including legal responsibilities and best practice advice and a Brand standard Food Hygiene Rating Scheme rating.
• Return paperwork to be inputted onto the database within 48 hours of inspections.
• Undertake revisits where requested and escalate more serious issues to the Lead Officer for Food and Safety.

Qualifications

• Completed either the Higher Certificate in Food Control (HCFC) or the Advanced Professional Certificate in Food Hygiene and Standards Control (APC-Food).
• Fully qualified Food competent Environmental Health Officer.
