Job Title: Food & Beverage Assistant (restaurantand bar)

Position Overview

As a Food & Beverage Assistant within our fine dining restaurant and bar, you play a key role in delivering elegant, attentive, and seamless service. You are part of the guest’s culinary journey—from warm welcomes and detailed menu knowledge to anticipating needs and ensuring that every dining experience reflects the refined luxury of a five-star hotel. Your focus is on precision, poise, and passion for outstanding hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service Excellence

  • Deliver a warm, polished welcome to all guests, maintaining a professional and gracious manner throughout service.
  • Ensure guests are guided through their dining experience with expert knowledge of the menu, wine list, and any seasonal or chef’s specials.
  • Provide discreet yet attentive service, anticipating guest needs and personal preferences without being intrusive.
  • Ensure a memorable and personalized experience for every guest, going above and beyond to exceed expectations.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor, observing guests to ensure satisfaction and immediately addressing any concerns.

Operational Duties

  • Set up, maintain, and reset dining areas with precision, ensuring all mise en place is immaculate and consistent with restaurant standards.
  • Accurately take and deliver food and beverage orders, adhering to timing standards and service etiquette.
  • Handle payments and billing with accuracy and discretion, using the hotel’s point-of-sale systems.
  • Support the coordination of special events or private dining experiences as required.
  • Adhere to all fine dining SOPs, ensuring consistent execution of service sequences and standards.

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all dishes, ingredients, allergens, dietary considerations, and wine pairings.
  • Attend pre-service briefings and tastings to ensure full understanding of menu updates and guest preferences.
  • Confidently communicate suggestions and recommendations tailored to guest tastes.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work harmoniously with the kitchen, sommelier, bar, and fellow service team members to ensure flawless service flow.
  • Attend daily briefings and handovers to stay aligned with team objectives and guest expectations.
  • Support colleagues during peak service times with a flexible and positive approach.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Uphold the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety throughout all service areas.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, licensing laws, and health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance or health & safety issues in the dining area promptly.
  • Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards in accordance with hotel appearance policies.

General Responsibilities

  • Attend all required training sessions, performance reviews, and team meetings.
  • Assist in opening and closing duties, including inventory, stock rotation, and cleaning schedules.
  • Undertake any reasonable duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager or senior hotel leadership in line with business needs.
  • Support and represent the hotel's brand values and luxury service ethos at all times.
