Job description
Location

The Bath Priory (part of the Brownsword family of hotels) has a great location in Bath, just a short walk from the city centre, with a bus stop right outside. The hotel is stunning, a Georgian house with 33 bedrooms built in honey-coloured Bath stone and is surrounded by four acres of multi-award-winning gardens. We are proud to have won awards at 5‑star level for over ten years and we are seeking sparkling new personalities to join our family.

The Role

Come and join our team as a Food & Beverage Manager and let your passion and personality shine. Our culture is important to us, and we encourage everyone in our teams to show thoughtfulness towards each other and our guests.

As a Food & Beverage Manager you will lead our restaurant team across our different Food & Beverage outlets and ensure we always provide exceptional service to our guests, helping them make memories that last a lifetime. At the heart of the hotel is our celebrated 3‑AA Rosette Priory Restaurant, with magnificent views across the hotel’s award‑winning gardens. Our menu offers a memorable culinary journey focusing on fresh local produce, flavour, and balance to create exciting, modern European dishes that epitomise the best seasonal dining. Complemented by an exemplary wine cellar, we ensure every detail of your dining experience is perfectly paired.

Escape the hustle and bustle of Bath’s city centre and opt for a cosy, casual dining experience with a warm, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere at our Pantry Restaurant. Our all‑new, vibrant, and informal menu serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and supper, packed with seasonal, light, and exciting dishes.

The Terrace at The Bath Priory is a very special spot for alfresco dining and drinking, backed in early summer by the scented wisteria‑clad walls of the hotel and overlooking four acres of beautiful gardens. The perfect spot for a glass of Champagne or any other choice of tipple, everyone is welcome, whether to eat or enjoy a drink, with the terrace open from 8 am until late.

Responsibilities
  • Get to know the menu to advise guests.
  • Recruit the best staff for your team.
  • Train new staff to be as wonderful as our current staff.
  • Build close relationships across all teams.
  • Ensure every guest has a memorable experience.
  • Help across departments when needed.
  • Maintain flexibility to support fair rotas.
Benefits
  • Competitive pay with service charge and tips on top.
  • Retail and hospitality perks through our Perkbox platform.
  • 25% off food & beverage in our hotels; £25 B&B per person; special rates for friends and family.
  • External Employee Assistance Programme with confidential helpline.
  • Meals on duty are free.
  • Continued learning and development pathways.
  • Internal promotions, including to General Manager level.
  • Milestone awards: champagne, afternoon tea, dinner, extra days off, and unique gifts.
  • Service charge shared among the team monthly (≈£160 per month, ≈£2000 per year) above base pay.
  • Management bonus scheme for Heads of Department and above.
