Overview

Responsibilities
  • As a Fleet Commercial Underwriter in our Maidstone Branch, drive and transform how we partner with broker portfolios through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships.
  • Apply a strong balance of technical underwriting and trading capability; use data, insights, and decision-support tools on mobile technology to succeed.
  • Be a team player who uses your unique skills to collaborate, take accountability, and identify new ways of doing things.
  • Develop broker relationships and maintain an understanding of the current commercial insurance market.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements; develop analytical skills with experience in account monitoring and action planning.
  • Champion change, use resilience to identify continuous improvement, and drive change through to resolution.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Experience in a Fleet underwriting environment (insurer or broker) preferred; strong technical underwriting expertise and trading capability.
  • Strong negotiator with commercial awareness and broker relationship skills.
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to build sound understanding of the current market and apply it to underwriting decisions.
  • Eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Background checks required as this is a regulated financial services role (FCA regulation; IDD requirements where applicable).
