The Trust is seeking motivated and enthusiastic doctors with at least three years experience in Psychiatry to join Kent & Medway Mental Health NHS Trust.

You will be working in inpatient or community psychiatry roles to give support to consultant psychiatrists who are working as Clinical Directors. As you will be working closely with senior medical managers, you will have dedicated time to develop management and leadership skills, and to support the Clinical Director in development projects.

Your clinical role will be in support of two of the services listed below.

The posts are as follows, You will work closely with the Clinical Director to develop and deliver projects related to service development and quality improvement in order to enhance the quality, safety and effectiveness of care provided by the mental health service.

Clinical Duties of Post Holder
  • To work with the Clinical Director to develop and deliver projects related to service development and quality improvement in order to enhance service quality, safety and effectiveness.
  • To provide psychiatric care to patients under supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • To provide medical input to the Multidisciplinary Liaison Team.
  • Availability to act as Section 12(2) approved doctor for the purpose of Mental Health Act assessments - where approved. If not approved then to work towards Section 12(2) approval.
  • To ensure effective liaison occurs between mental health services and other agencies in the voluntary and statutory sectors as appropriate.
