Overview

A&P Falmouth- Fitter

Home to one of the world’s largest natural deep-water harbours, A&P Falmouth’s facility is one of the largest ship-repair complexes in the UK.

Whether it's working on the ships in our docks or performing vital maintenance, we may have a place for you. We are looking for Fitters to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. Our Fitters complete mechanical overhaul, repair, renew and modification of vessel equipment and systems.

Responsibilities
  • Fit and assemble mechanical components and systems onboard ships according to engineering specifications and drawings and specifications
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on various vessels, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and structural issues
  • Assist in the overhaul, repair, renew or modification of vessel’s main engines, generators, compressors and more
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards
Qualifications
  • You’ll have experience as a Fitter or in a similar role in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment
  • You\'ll be able to interpret and understand technical drawings
  • You\'ll have excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • You\'ll have good attention to detail and a logical, analytical and proactive approach to problem-solving
