Workshop Team; Fitter/Turner

Surrey, RH7 6JP

This Fitter/Turner role is a hands‑on workshop position focused on building, assembling and machining precision components for robotic equipment. The role involves working from mechanical drawings, producing and upgrading assemblies, and safely operating manual mills and lathes. It works closely with engineering and R&D teams to support projects from build through to completion, while also requiring the ability to work independently to deadlines. The role suits someone with strong mechanical aptitude, experience in precision assembly or machining, and a practical, detail‑focused approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and assemble robotic equipment, including mechanical assemblies and sub‑assemblies.
  • Machine components using manual mills and lathes, working accurately to drawings.
  • Plan work steps, complete checklists and follow build procedures to meet project requirements.
  • Inspect incoming and manufactured parts against mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and R&D teams to deliver projects on time.
  • Repair, upgrade and maintain mechanical assemblies as required.
  • Support general workshop activities, including packing, loading and occasional offsite work.
