A university sports facility in Preston is seeking a part-time fitness instructor for a fixed term of 6 months. The role includes supervising the fitness suite, conducting fitness assessments, and performing maintenance on gym equipment. Ideal candidates will possess experience as a fitness instructor and hold relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2. The position requires evening and weekend shifts. We are looking for a fitness instructor work as part of a team who ensure the smooth and safe functioning of a programme of sport and exercise activities at University of Lancashire Sports Facilities. The role involves operating as part of a team working shifts including evenings and weekends supervising the Fitness Suite. You will also liaise with users, and issue and check memberships, conduct inductions and fitness assessments, undertake Personal Training and instruct exercise classes.
The role also involves performing routine inspection, maintenance and cleaning of equipment and preparing areas for a range of activities. There will be reception and administration duties such as operation of the booking and membership systems and cash handling. You will also assist Duty Supervisors in all aspects of the Sports Services operations.
The successful candidate will have experience of working as a fitness instructor /personal trainer in a sports/fitness facility. You will also hold a range of GCSEs (minimum 5) or equivalent experience, a Gym Instructor (NVQ Level 2) Qualification and a First Aid at Work qualification.
Please note that this role involves working evenings and weekends as part of a shift pattern.
