Job Title

Fire & Security Maintenance & Installation Engineer | Essex, Central, East & North London | Full Time | £45,000–£60,000 per annum

Company Overview

Our client is a family‑run company offering bespoke electronic fire, security, and infrastructure solutions to commercial and domestic properties across London, the Home Counties, and the UK.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience installing, maintaining, and servicing a range of fire and/or security systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional) from manufacturers such as Advanced, Kentec, C‑Tec, Gent, and Morley.
  • Experience installing and programming intruder alarm systems, including Orisec, Texecom, Pyronix, and Honeywell Galaxy.
  • Experience with CCTV systems (IP and analogue), including Hikvision.
  • Experience with Access Control systems such as Paxton Net2, Paxton10, ACT, Switch2, Videx, and CAME BPT.
  • Competence with emergency lighting systems and AOV systems to EN 12101 standards.
  • Networking knowledge for IP‑based systems (switches, PoE, VLAN setup, remote connectivity) – desirable.
  • Experience configuring monitoring solutions with ARC signalling equipment (DualCom, Emizon, CSL, CM2 Orisec) – desirable.
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills under time pressure.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications accurately.
  • Excellent client liaison and communication skills, delivering high‑quality customer service.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong health & safety awareness, including carrying out risk assessments and method statements.
  • A full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities

  • Install and configure Access Control systems such as Paxton Net2, Paxton10, ACT, Switch2, Videx, and CAME BPT.
  • Work with emergency lighting systems and AOV systems to EN 12101 standards.
  • Configure networking for IP‑based security systems, including switches, PoE, VLAN setup, and remote connectivity (where applicable).
  • Set up monitoring solutions with ARC integration and signalling equipment (DualCom, Emizon, CSL, CM2 Orisec).
  • Perform fault finding and rectification under time pressure, read technical drawings, and follow specifications accurately.
  • Provide excellent customer service and client liaison, maintaining clear communication and minimal disruption.
  • Follow all health & safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
