Overview
The Fire Safety Advisor supports the Head of Fire Safety for managing all aspects of: Fire Safety, Fire Prevention, and Fire Safety Training development and delivery to all staff. The Advisor provides professional advice regarding Fire Code, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005, Building Regulations, and all other relevant legislation within the Trust and for other client bodies.
The Fire Safety Advisor will provide support to the Head of Fire Safety to maintain an adequate level of fire safety throughout the Trust's estate. The role ensures the Trust complies with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO), NHS Estates Firecode Policy and Principles, and associated management/design guidance. The Fire Safety Advisor will work closely with the Head of Fire Safety, Estates Management, Capital Projects Team, care Groups and Departmental managers in clinical and non-clinical areas to ensure a fire-safe environment for patients, staff and visitors and to facilitate sustained improvement in patient care and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Fire Safety in managing all aspects of fire safety, fire prevention and fire safety training development and delivery to all staff.
- Provide professional advice regarding Fire Code, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005, Building Regulations, NHS Estates Firecode Policy and Principles, and related management/design guidance.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and associated guidance across the Trust's estate.
- Collaborate with Estates Management, Capital Projects Team, care Groups and Departmental managers to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- Support pre-employment checks and DBS requirements as applicable; promote DBS Update Service where required.
