Job description
Job Title: Financial Planning Director

Location: Bournemouth

Contract: Permanent

Working pattern: Hybrid

About the Role

In this role you will work with the Financial Planning and Investment Management team to develop new business and to contribute to the office growth strategy ensuring that the quality of advice and service is of the highest standard. This will involve working with and developing new external professional relationships and leading these relationships where appropriate. You will also maintain existing client relationships, providing internal and external clients with advice and service.

What you'll be responsible for
  • Contribute to the growth of the business through the provision of high‑quality compliant advice and participate in marketing initiatives; collaborating with Rathbones Investment Management colleagues and other professional partners in the legal and tax community to encourage the introduction of clients.
  • Deliver excellent client service by ensuring they are advised on the most appropriate service for their circumstances, working collaboratively with other colleagues to provide a consistent service, ensuring clients are charged fairly per the Schedule of Charges, and keeping client numbers within capacity.
  • Manage risk by maintaining a good working knowledge and providing advice in line with legislative and other requirements, ensuring complete and timely records of all client interactions and technical documentation, and conducting regular reviews of clients’ personal arrangements in line with ongoing advice service.
  • Ensure that clients’ annual review services are delivered consistently and reliably and that the records adequately attest to this.
About you
  • Experience of successfully delivering a Financial Planning service with strong up‑to‑date industry and investment knowledge.
  • Qualified at Level 6 as a Chartered Financial Planner.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with introducers, either internal or external.
  • Remain conscious of commercial imperatives whilst ensuring that regulatory and Training & Competence requirements are observed.
  • Skilled at influencing, motivating yourself and others, and highly analytical.
  • Highly organised with strong time‑management skills, great at teamwork, and adept at building a team.
