We are looking for a Financial Operations Accountant to join our Finance Department in Bath. This is a wide-ranging role offering exposure across multiple financial disciplines within a thriving international consultancy, making it an ideal opportunity for a recently qualified accountant looking to build a broad and impactful career in industry.

About The Role

As a Financial Operations Accountant, you will be involved in a variety of ad-hoc and ongoing finance projects across the business. Your work will span management accounting, financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury and statutory reporting, alongside supporting the ongoing development of strong internal controls and consistent financial processes across our global offices.

You will work closely with colleagues across the international finance team, managing your time autonomously, leading projects, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our financial operations. There may also be opportunities for international exposure and travel as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and deliver financial operations activities across management accounting, FP&A, tax, treasury and statutory reporting.
  • Lead and contribute to ad-hoc finance projects across the global business.
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts when providing cover for finance team members.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term project financial reviews.
  • Assist with year-end external audits and quarterly statutory reporting processes.Support quarterly and annual bank covenant reporting.
  • Maintain, improve and document financial processes and internal controls across international offices.
  • Support the annual and periodic update of global cost rates.
  • Assist with internal cash flow reporting and monthly exchange rate reviews.
  • Support the administration and reporting of bank guarantees and bonds.
  • Work collaboratively with the global finance team to ensure consistency, accuracy and strong financial governance.
  • Undertake other finance-related projects and activities as required.
About You:
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables).
  • Experience in professional services or the engineering/construction sector is desirable but not essential.
  • A flexible, can-do attitude with enthusiasm for working across a broad range of finance activities.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
  • Confident, proactive and comfortable taking the lead when required.
  • Resilient, detail-focused, and an excellent communicator who builds strong working relationships.
