Job summary

A boutique Private Equity firm is seeking an ambitious Financial Controller to support their growing finance function. The ideal candidate will have a background in Financial Services with significant experience in leading multi-entity finance operations. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day finances, month-end closing, and streamlining reports using Xero. A competitive salary and a bonus opportunity of 50-100% are offered, alongside a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ post-qualification experience in Financial Services, ideally within Private Equity / Private Credit.
  • Knowledge of Xero highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and manipulate Python/SQL code.

Overview

Mondrian Alpha is partnering with a boutique Private Equity firm that has doubled in size over the last three years. As a result of this growth, they are looking to hire an ambitious Financial Controller who can help to scale the finance function and support continued growth.

Responsibilities
  • This is a hands-on role working closely with the Finance Director, owning the management company’s day-to-day finance and coordinating outsourced providers across APAC.
  • Lead the multi-entity month-end close, reviewing journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany eliminations prepared by a junior accountant.
  • Deliver monthly budget and forecast packs with insightful commentary.
  • Support the annual statutory accounts under UK GAAP/IFRS and lead communication with auditors.
  • Maximise the use of Xero across the group to streamline and tighten the control framework.
  • Lead the creation of automated standardized reports and develop dashboards.
Qualifications
  • Qualified accountants (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with 3+ years’ post-qualification experience in Financial Services, ideally within Private Equity / Private Credit.
  • Knowledge of Xero highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and manipulate Python/SQL code.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Candidates must be on a maximum one-month notice period.
