Financial Controller Location: Staffordshire Salary: £100,000 plus package

About the Role

Robert Walters Group are currently supporting a leading business based in Staffordshire in their recruitment of an experienced Financial Controller on a permanent basis. This role will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, and compliance while ensuring the financial health and strategic growth of the business. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep financial expertise, and the ability to drive process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Oversee preparation of accurate financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance to drive profitability.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and growth strategies.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard company assets.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Improve financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.
  • Support procurement and supply chain teams in financial negotiations and contract management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align financial strategy with business objectives.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and growth initiatives.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
