We partner with some of the most recognised organisations in the UK and Europe, driving meaningful impact through innovation and collaboration.

We are seeking a technically strong Financial Accountant to own the month‑end close, maintain accurate records, drive compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and act as the key liaison for audit activities. Your process‑improvement mindset will strengthen our controls and systems.

At Credera, we operate a flexible hybrid working model. This requires 3 days per week working onsite – typically at your local Credera office (London, Manchester, Leeds or Newcastle). We value collaboration and client impact, so our hybrid model is designed to strike a balance between flexibility, in‑person connection, and delivering exceptional outcomes for our people and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the month‑end close process, including preparing or approving journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
  • Serve as the general ledger accounting lead: sign off on files and perform or review reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure quality and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Coordinate and manage audit activities (statutory, other external audits, internal audits, and tax audits)
  • Review and oversee tax submissions
  • Shape and maintain compliance with the company’s expense policy
  • Responsible for SOX submissions; drive SOX compliance and maintain robust internal control frameworks
  • Periodically review accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers to maintain high quality reporting
  • Troubleshoot accounting queries and provide guidance to more junior staff
  • If required, lead migration of accounting system to a shared service model
  • Partner with FP&A by providing updated actual results to inform rolling forecasts and budget adjustments
Skills and Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) with strong technical accounting expertise
  • In‑depth knowledge of accounting standards, plus familiarity with tax regulations
  • Demonstrable experience completing financial reporting and month‑end close in a fast‑paced environment
  • Experience managing statutory, internal, and tax audits
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills and a continuous‑improvement mindset
