Overview
Reporting into the Head of Group Finance, the Finance Project Lead will work with the Finance, Project Management and IT teams to achieve the highest standards of accounting, reporting and financial support with regard to certain finance projects. This is a fixed term contract to support the current pipeline of finance projects, notably the final phase of a project to transition to USD group reporting and the subsequent implementation of a consolidation / reporting solution.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide expert resource in relation to consolidation & reporting system requirements gathering and implementation.
- Provide support in the development and testing of reports, ensuring the integrity of the financial information included.
- Provide technical expertise and accounting support to current and upcoming finance projects.
- Work with the Finance team to drive improvements in reporting through technology, identifying and resolving reconciliation discrepancies and enhancing data integrity.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships across the Finance, Project Management and IT teams as well as other key stakeholders relevant to specific projects.
- Engage with project teams to identify, introduce and contribute to the management of arising opportunities and risks relating to finance change projects, escalating when appropriate.
- Coordinate and support the development and documentation of robust finance processes and controls where required as a result of finance change projects.
- Determine and map improvements to existing processes and map future states from implementation.
- Coordinate and support the design and implementation of testing requirements arising as a result of finance change projects.
- Support other ad hoc work and analysis as directed by Senior Management.

Person specification / Core Competencies
- Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA with 1-3 years PQE.
- Proven experience in managing finance transformation projects, including implementation of a consolidation / reporting solution.
- Strong data analysis skills with experience in improving reporting and data integrity.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills and an ability to juggle varied demands and workload.
- Project management experience.
- Diligent, thorough and excellent attention to detail with high levels of integrity and confidentiality.
- Computer literate, with good skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience of an ERP system desirable.
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from a range of backgrounds. Willing and able to take responsibility and ownership for tasks.
- Ability to work autonomously when required, whilst still possessing strong teamwork skills.
- Keen to suggest improvements to current ways of working.
