Overview

As a Finance Officer you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance with a range of tasks including invoice processing, payroll and ensuring financial compliance and accountability. This role is with a well-established organisation within the non profit sector, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Responsibilities
  • Process invoices and ensure timely payments to suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable and payable.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes.
  • Respond to internal and external financial queries promptly.
Qualifications
  • AAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience of Sage 50 Payroll and Sage50 Accounts would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Experience in using accounting software and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a small-sized team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • A positive attitude towards problem-solving and process improvement.
