Are you a finance professional looking to make a real impact in the education sector? We're recruiting a Finance Accountancy Officer to provide high-quality financial support to Headteachers and Governing Bodies across local schools.

Colwyn Bay, Conwy County Borough (LL29 7AZ)

£16.50 per hour (umbrella)

Full-time, 37 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and monitor annual budgets for Primary, Secondary, and Special schools
  • Support year-end closure and production of final accounts
  • Provide financial projections and advice to help schools manage resources effectively
  • Conduct school visits, advising on budgets, interpreting reports, and resolving queries
  • Maintain and reconcile the Financial Reporting System for County Primary schools
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, Financial Regulations, and best practice guidance
  • Assist with creditor payments, purchase orders, and accurate coding
  • Collaborate with colleagues and provide additional financial support where required
Qualifications
  • Background in finance, accountancy, or school finance support
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
