Job summary

A dynamic engineering firm in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced accounts and office administrator. The role involves handling day-to-day processing, data entry for sales and purchase ledgers, managing orders and supplier communications, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates must have experience with Sage Accounting and a confident telephone manner. This is a part-time position with an hourly rate of £13.50 to £14.00 depending on experience, along with holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience working as an office administrator in a small business.
  • Computer literate, able to use Word and Excel effectively.
  • Confident telephone manner when talking to suppliers or customers.
  • Effective time management to ensure work is completed within the working hours.
  • Ability to work alone efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Purchase Orders agree with Supplier Invoices and raise queries.
  • Circulate daily/weekly sales and Open Order book values.
  • Placing customer orders and managing invoices.
  • Answer all incoming phone calls and process incoming post.
  • Covering for holiday/sickness and marking paperwork.
  • Tracking timesheets and overtime for approval.
  • Issuing delivery notes and booking transport.
  • Ensuring compliance of company machines and safety certificates.
  • Helping with audits and internal stock takes.
  • Being the main contact for IT issues in the office.
  • Managing all office and workshop stationery and workwear.

Skills

Experience as an office administrator
